Import guidelines
In an era dominated by increasingly transparent markets, it seems easy to conduct global supplier research by a simple mouse click. But experience shows: appearances are deceptive!
Compliance with product safety guidelines, the different custom duties, import guidelines as well as knowledge of production and suppliers are fundamental requirements for completing an import order successfully.
Quality assurance is the buzzword everyone is talking about. But how difficult can it be to meet the high European standards, and how complex are the evidence and information required by the legislature for importing companies.
Which numerous directives and regulations have to be complied with and documented? How much of which substance is found in which component? These are questions that no consumer asked ten years ago. This has changed fundamentally: research and development have made a major contribution to consumer safety. And that's appropriate because we all are responsible for our fellow human beings and our environment with our actions.
In order to guarantee the highest level of security possible in this point as well, know-how and extensive quality control are essential. Quality assurance begins with the request of the article towards the supplier or producer. Does he have the necessary certificates and permits? Is he technically capable of meeting the needed requirements? Does he observe social standards and does he also take his responsibility towards fellow human beings and the environment seriously?
Factory audits (evaluation of a manufacturer with regard to his technical and social standards as well as his quality assurance) – which we carry out personally at the supplier's site – are among the basic requirements in terms of production monitoring. ensuring social standards and inspections according to AQL through goods controls, based on representative sample quantities, are also our standard. We guarantee the technical tests and the control of the ingredients in cooperation with officially recognized test institutes.
